The ending of X saw a more aggressive Raiden, exhausted by all the invading forces attempting to take over Earthrealm. Story-wise, it's assumed that it will continue on with the story that both Mortal Kombat (2011) and Mortal Kombat X have dealt with thus far. Since then, we haven't really seen much in regards to what Mortal Kombat 11 will hold. Ed Boon shocked the gaming world when he released the initial trailer for the game back at the 2018 Game Awards, and to see that it was being released so soon sent the hype train flying down the tracks.
